Written on: 12.24.2008 Time: 8:24:00 PM Merry Christmas!!! Today is December 24, Christmas Eve. In just a few more hours, we will all get up and eat our Noche Buena with our own families. This year's Christmas is different for me, for this year, we will celebrate the holidays here in our humble abode somewhere amongst the busy streets of Metro Manila. Though not my first time, I still am not used to the notion that our residence is really here, not in Pangasinan. (Enough of the drama. It's Christmas!) With that major change in the way I'll be celebrating Christmas, I am excited. It's not just the festive midnight dinner or the gifts that I have received pre-Christmas, rather the feeling that I'll be celebrating Christmas in the Metro with a complete family. The last time I spent Christmas here was like 3 or 5 years ago and it was only me, my mom, my dad and my brother. Now, I have my aunt, uncle and grandma with me. I'm sure we will enjoy Christmas. Though, I miss the parlor games we once did before, there are new things that I can enjoy as much as I did with those games. We have this DVD Marathon after our small feast and gift giving; we will all be sleeping in one room even though it's not so big just because it's Christmas; we will all be celebrating HAPPILY. I'm cutting this blog entry short because I think the spirit of Christmas should always be felt and not just read. So, having said that I would like to wish each and everyone reading my blog entry a MERRY CHRISTMAS! --Joyeux Noel! (I'm French.) :D ♥Sara

I actually watched this movie three times today! What was I thinking? I've been blabbing of not liking the movie that much and just today, I watched it again and again and again. Here's the story: We talked about watching the movie for today at the mall. As we arrived, we went straight to the movies and bought tickets and started watching. After the 'first viewing' we had lunch at Shakey's where we actually waited almost half an hour just to be seated. I was so hungry by the time a table was vacated for us. We were actually nine during our first viewing but during the second time, we became only five. Unfortunately, two of us had to leave early and only three of us (J, L and me) watched the movie for the third time. I really didn't enjoy the movie but I enjoyed watching. Weird, right? What I'm saying is that if I'll watch that movie alone or with some other people, it would leave me sleeping. The movie focused too much on the meeting of Bella and Edward. I mean, you've watched one-third of the movie and they're not yet together. Anyway, I still enjoyed watching because my two craziest friends were with me. Thanks L! Thanks J! Whew! That was too much... ♥Sara
Written on: 12.09.2008 Time: 9:04:00 PM This morning was my WebPage Development Contest for the Media Festival and I really think I didn't do so well. :c I'm really disappointed with myself because I spent hours last night just to review html codes and when the contest proper began, my mind went totally blackout. --- Oh well, I'll just post screenshots by next week. ♥Sara

Here's a video of Miley Cyrus during her performance at Rockefeller Center last December 3, 2008. I really enjoyed her hair and outfit here. She's so rocking! :P I've been listening to only two songs for the past few days and they're both from Miley. First is the one in the video and the other is "All I Want for Christmas is You". Her songs make me excited for the holidays. --16 days to go before Christmas ♥Sara
Written on: 12.08.2008 Time: 8:36:00 PM I've got a weird title, huh? You think? Well, I've been doing html before, but that was like two years ago and now that I'm being asked by my beloved section to be their representative my knowledge on html is lost, I may say. I hate this feeling. You think you know it but you end up staring at a blank white screen. Thank you very much. Tomorrow's activities for me: They're not many but I think that my days are getting more tiring each day. It shows in my eyes. My friends tell me that they pity me for I look too tired every time they see me at school. Yeah, I feel tired most of the time but I keep on doing things, so many things. What's weird about it is that I don't know where I get the fuel to go on with all the activities each day has for me. I really want to thank God for giving me enough energy to continue with this kind of school life. I find myself fantastic! :)) I'm really looking forward to the holidays. It's the best time to relax and take a small step back just to see the view, the whole view. :D ♥Sara
Written on: 12.07.2008 Time: 2:06:00 PM Just a few more days and it's going to be Christmas. Since Christmas is a season to give, here's my list of what I want for Christmas even though I'm not expecting anyone to buy me any of these.
Spread the love this season, guys! :D ♥Sara

Our country had developed values that promote being conservative especially among teenagers even before the dawn of globalization. These values include being discreet when it comes to socializing with the opposite sex. But as our country moved towards globalization and interaction among the very different cultures around the world, these values had been gradually disappearing. Teenagers of today forget about the notion of being conservative and start to become much more liberated than what is expected from a Filipino lad and lass. With the presence of readily available cable TV, people of a young age bracket, specifically the teenage bracket, consume media content that are meant for an older audience. Youth-oriented TV shows have evolved from being wholesome entertainment into a medium wherein explicit content are uninhibitedly shown such as issues on drugs, booze, gambling and premarital sex. Unfortunately, these media contents manage to sneak into our television screens by bearing the reason that they want to show the kids what not to do when they are caught up in the same scenario. This reason may be right. Yes, kids need to be educated but the problem is that the liberate acts teens do on these TV shows are very often unaccompanied with responsibility and proper response. These shows depict teens running away from responsibility by resorting to drugs, booze and some dirty fun. But who is to blame? Is it the media per se, our busy parents, or the teens themselves? Who? The media is a means of communication or a link between what’s happening to the people and the people themselves. People are in need of information. Most of the information coming from the media is not differentiated into good or bad. Media never do such. They just tell you what’s happening around you and what’s happening to you, period. In order for this media to continue its existence, they need people to patronize them. They need to be watched, heard and to be sold. After all, media is business. Media today is strongly governed by the saying, “Sex sells.” Since media is, indeed business, it goes with whatever sells. So, being a business, are they to be blamed? How about our busy parents? Many households nowadays have both the mother and the father work for a living. Children are often left alone watching television. This is often the start of having young people watch rated PG shows and sadly, sans the PG. Oftentimes; these parents just let their children do such because they think that learning about those issues by watching them is better than having firsthand experiences on them. Teenagers however, never get perfect knowledge by just watching, reading or seeing. They tend to itch to experience what they see on TV. Many parents though think that their children are responsible enough and would never require parental guidance. If, assuming that is indeed the case, why do media have to flash the words “Parental Guidance” every minute on the streaming of their shows? Their children may be raised as responsible teenagers but outside their homes, there are many temptations; temptations to do what are against their values and to do immoral acts. As parents it is their responsibility to protect their children from such things, but as parents they are also obliged to provide for their children, to give them proper education, cozy homes, and in general, a comfortable life. They may not attend to one responsibility, but are they to be blamed if they dream to provide for their children? Teenagers, they never cease to do shocking actions. Some have proper family setups, some don’t. Those who have none, most of the time, seek the attention and affection of the people around them. To be able to find what they seek, teenagers resort to what they see on TV; to drugs, booze and sex. This is because the shows are never really controlled and regulated by the media; they are never controlled even by their parents. They are left alone to control themselves. Teenagers never really have perfect knowledge on those things. They never get that perfect knowledge from the media, and sometimes, sadly, even from their parents. They are left alone to handle big responsibilities that are very much new and may seem too sensitive for them. So, are they to be blamed, knowing that they are the least equipped to be able to handle those issues; that they are the most unwise yet to be able to decide and foresee the consequences? Bottom line, we can never really know who is to blame, we can only guess. But then again, with properly regulated media content, the guidance and protection we get from our parents and the responsibility and morality that we, teenagers have developed over time, then the matter on too much exposure of teenagers to societal issues that are yet too sensitive for them to handle is to be solved in no time. ♥Sara

the blogger Name: Mary Sara Gremille Gender: Female Sign: Virgo Location: Cainta, Rizal Hello! I love writing so I put up this blog. I don't write on a regular basis. Whenever I’m feeling it and there's internet connection, I blog. There are a lot of things I blog about. The things I watch, the vacations I go on to and my digital creations. I'm a big Miley Cyrus fan so you might see entries about her and her songs here. I love watching Heroes. I am interested in pop culture. I am a junior BS Life Sciences major at the Ateneo de Manila University. Someday, I can see myself as a successful cardiologist. I love travelling and USA, Greece and the Philippines are the three countries that I would like to take a tour in. Photography is just one of the things I do for fun and I'm not really serious about it. My love for being behind the camera is just as much as I love being in front of it. I have a lot of dreams and I will do everything just to reach them. I have many fears, too. One weird thing about me is that I am afraid of baby dolls. There are also a lot of things I adore. I love shoes, chocolate, pink, books, show business and a lot more. I can say that I'm an above average student. I like Science, Computer and most especially English. I don't hate Math but I just don't like it as much as I like the other three subjects I have stated. I was born and raised in Pangasinan. Although it is a province, I am proud of being there. There are a lot of advantages, you know. I don't have a big clique with my high school friends. Actually, it has always been just me and my best friend. We just happen to be really friendly. Haha! We go with girls who have their own cliques but we sure get along. I prefer chilling out in one of my friends' houses than going to the mall. I love watching movies be it animated, drama, comedy or romance. I'm not picky when it comes to food. I eat a lot of things. This explains my current body built. Alright, now you are oriented with who I am. Just keep on reading my posts for you to know me even more. ;) the tweets |
